CHRIS' CORNER
Volume 2, Issue 11
June 29, 2007
Final Edition for the 206-2007 Year.
Fellow Toastmasters: First and foremost - Please join me in thanking our outgoing Governor, Stephen Fingerman (DTM and all around great guy) for his 3 years of dedicated service. He has been a great asset to this district and we have learned a lot from him.
This 11th issue of Volume 2 of Chris’ Corner will cover:
- End Year Thoughts:
- New Staff & Appointments:
- Proxies For International
- Officer Training
- Members Bill of Rights
- End Year Thoughts: A lot of good things happened in District 38 this year. Morale is high, we had two great conferences, training was well attended and our members had tons of educational achievements. However, we lost as many clubs as we chartered, lost as many members as we gained, and will probably be the only District in the world to miss our CC (formerly CTM) goal. My thrust for this year will be to help struggling clubs survive and better serve their members.

If you are not attending please either assign another Toastmaster or Mail your proxy(ies) to the return address - Bill Zdankiewicz. His name/address is on the form. He will ensure your proxy gets forwarded to me.

Saturday August 4th
10:00AM - 1:00PM

- Members Bill of Rights: The District theme for 2007-2008 will be “It’s the Member – not the Number”. I feel we will be even more effective if the focus on serving individual Toastmaster rather than Club, Area, Division or District Goals. The goals are still important, but should be used, as a tool, to help us meet the members needs. I have developed a Members Bill of Rights that I ask each club to adopt.
So long ‘til next time,
Chris, NDG (Next District Governor or No Darn Good – depending on your perspective)
