SPEECH-A-THONS

This is where one whole meeting (usually at a time different from the regular, scheduled meeting) is devoted to just speeches and evaluations. This provides members additional opportunities to complete speech projects. Speech-a-thons can not only provide time to present additional projects but also can be used for longer projects, including modules from the Better Speaker series, the Successful Club series, and the Leadership Excellence series.

Speech-a-thon meetings must meet the following criteria:

  • Each speech should be carefully prepared to allow the speaker to focus on the project's objectives.
  • All speeches must receive both written and oral evaluations.
  • Each Toastmaster is limited to one speech at any meeting for credit toward any CC or AC award.
  • Speech-A-Thons must be sponsored by a club (not an area or division) but may include members from other clubs.
