DISTRICT 38'S TOP 3

The District's chief executive officer is the District
Governor (DG) who directs the District & motivates
members to achieve Distinguished status, promoting a standard
of excellence in
all District activities. Our 2007-08 District
Governor is CHRIS RIO, DTM.

 Under
the guidance of the District Governor, the District's Lieutenant
Governor of Education & Training (LGET) strives to have
every club and each member reap the benefits of the Toastmasters
educational program and to have every club become a Distinguished
Club. The LGET is responsible for achieving Distinguished District
goals for CCs, ACs, and Distinguished Clubs; provides direction
and counsel to Division Governors, Area Governors, and Club
officers on the educational opportunities in Toastmasters; and
is responsible for the design and conduct of successful District
training programs, conferences, and other District educational
events. Our 2007-08 Lieutenant Governor of Education & Training
is RONNI LAINO, DTM.
Ronni is a member of the 7 times President’s Distinguished Big Blue Toastmasters club. She has served her club in various club offices, has been a club sponsor and mentor to numerous new clubs, and served the District as both the Area 17 and Division C Governor. Her dedication to the Toastmasters program has earned her the Triple Crown of D38: The 2002-03 Toastmaster of Year award, the 2003-04 Area Governor of the Year award, and 2004-05 Division Governor of the Year Award.
Rounding out the "Top Three", the District's Lieutenant Governor of Marketing (LGM) makes the benefits of Toastmasters membership available to greater numbers of people by planning, developing, implementing, and directing District marketing objectives. The many responsibilities of the LGM include: developing/directing programs for new club development, club rescue efforts, club membership promotion, and membership retention; and promoting standards of service to the member and to the club.
Our 2007-08 Lieutenant
Governor of Marketing is LAUREN KUIK, ATM-S, AL.
During her 5 years as a Toastmaster Lauren has served as Club President and VP Public Relations for the 8 years President's Distinguished Club, ETS Toastmasters. She is also a member of Washington Crossing Advanced Toastmasters and was one of the rescue team members for this club. She served as Area 19 Governor from 2004 - 2005 earning Select Distinguished status with this Area. She served as District Parliamentarian for 2 years and served as Chair of the District 38 Recognition Committee for 2006 - 2007. She was the Registration Chair for the District 38 Fall 2005 Conference and served as the Marketing Chair for the Region VII 2007 conference. In addition to her leadership roles at Club and District levels, she has served as a Mentor for the Merrill Lynch Bullmasters Club, as well as for members in her own and other clubs in Area 19. She has also participated in demo meetings to introduce new people to Toastmasters International. Lauren is eager for the opportunity to share her experience with the members of District 38 as LGM; and to support Chris and Ronni in their ongoing efforts to make District 38 a Distinguished District.
